Harmonos-2-get

Huawei’s latest operating system, HarmonyOS 2.0, is on its way to smartphones and smartwatches. HarmonyOS aims to provide a seamless user experience by competing with the powerful Android and iOS markets. Huawei’s native operating system aims to unify all of its devices (phones, smartwatches, and smart home devices) through a single platform.

Read on as we discuss compatible devices and how you can experience the latest HarmonyOS 2.0 as well.

The first step to getting HarmonyOS 2.0 is to determine if your Huawei device is supported.

Currently, Huawei smartphones with up to 4GB RAM are supported and can get the upgrade. Additionally, Huawei only supports Chinese smartphone version. If you have a Global Huawei phone, you will have to wait a while for the latest update.

Huawei does not support smartphones from other manufacturers at this time, but that could change in the future. Huawei’s flagship Mate and P series will automatically receive the HarmonyOS 2.0 update.

How to download HarmonyOS 2.0

If your Huawei device is compatible, you can get the HarmonyOS 2.0 update. If you cannot read or understand Chinese, we recommend that you use a translator app with a camera function (Google Translate) because the My Huawei app is in Chinese.

To download HarmonyOS 2.0, follow these steps:

  1. Download the My Huawei app from the Huawei App Gallery.

  2. Click on HarmonyOS Early Access Beta; this should be the leftmost box.

  3. Use the translator app to translate Chinese text and read user agreements and onscreen instructions.

  4. Follow the on-screen steps and HarmonyOS 2.0 will then be installed on your Huawei phone.

HarmonyOS is the future of Huawei

Huawei is striving to make HarmonyOS a true alternative to Android, but only time will tell how successful it will be. HarmonyOS will allow users to use both the HarmonyOS and Android apps. The HarmonyOS app store has over 134,000 apps, with four million developers ready to distribute apps.

The success of HarmonyOS depends on whether or not other Chinese manufacturers agree to partner with Huawei. If HarmonyOS is successful in China, we could very well see an epic tech battle between Huawei, Android, and Google.
