Although the United States has banned Huawei from doing business with its domestic companies, the Chinese tech giant continues to launch new smartphones. Huawei announced the Nova 6 series consisting of three phones: the Nova 6 5G, the Nova 6 and the Nova 6 SE. Just like the Mate 30 Pro, after seeing the phones and hearing about their specs, you’ll also want them to support Google apps and services.
Much like the previous series of Huawei smartphones, the Nova 6 is made up of three phones designed to appeal to different Android fans. The Nova 6 5G is a bloated flagship that is capable of delivering next-gen network speeds, the standard Nova 6 comes with the same features as its 5G sibling… except 5G. Finally, the Nova 6 SE is a more affordable device with a less powerful processor and a different camera system.
The hardware of the classic Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G is superb. The handsets both come with a 6.57-inch display with a Galaxy S10 + pill-shaped cutout. In the hole, Huawei has placed a 32-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle secondary sensor that can be used to accommodate more of your friends and family in a single shot. The front-facing camera duo works extremely similar to that offered by the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
On the back of the Nova 6 or Nova 6 5G, you’ll find three cameras: a 40-megapixel primary, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. Together, the trio are expected to offer a diverse camera system similar to the Mate 30 Pro, Galaxy S10, and iPhone 11 Pro.

Huawei also did not retain the internal components of the Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G. Both handsets are powered by the tech giant’s internal Kirin 990 chipset with the 4G variant only operated by the former and the full 5G model used by the latter.
In short, this means that both phones should deliver excellent performance across the board and won’t sweat when playing graphically intense games or opening a slew of different apps at once. Huawei’s Kirin 90 comes with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.
Both devices should be able to provide at least a full day of use thanks to the Nova 6 5G’s 4,200mAh battery and the Nova 6’s 4,100mAh cell.

Much like Huawei’s other flagships, the Nova series comes in a plethora of different colors ranging from bright red to a gradient finish with purple and blue tones.
Every member of the Nova 6 series will come pre-installed with Android 10, but of course there won’t be any apps or Google services available.
For now, the launch of Huawei’s most recent devices is only confirmed in China and will start at 3199 Chinese Yuan (£ 344) for the standard Nova 6 and 3799 Chinese Yuan (£ 409) for the plug-in model. 5G charge.
It is currently unclear whether Huawei plans to launch either of these devices in Western markets. But of course Express.co.uk will let you know if this changes.
