Huawei introduced the MediaPad M3 tablet in September last year, and a new tablet from the company has just been certified by the TENAA (the Chinese equivalent of the FCC). Now it is possible that it is the Huawei MediaPad M4, although its specs seem a bit disappointing for this model, it is possible that it is a budget variant of the MediaPad M3, or something from the kind. This device is made of metal, as you can see from the pictures provided. Let’s take a look at its spec sheet, okay.
The Huawei BZK-L00, which is its model number, has an 8-inch 1280 x 800 display, as well as 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 128 GB via a card microSD). This tablet is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, which is most likely one of Huawei’s mid-range Kirin chips. A 4,650mAh non-removable battery will also be part of this package, and we’re assuming the company will include fast charging in this tablet as well, although TENAA won’t reveal this information. A 5-megapixel shooter will be placed on the back of this tablet, and a 2-megapixel snapper will be available on the front of the device. Android 7.0 Nougat will be preinstalled on the device, and in addition, you can find the Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.0 or 5.1 skin from Huawei. This tablet will be available in Moonlight Silver, Sky Gray and Gold color variants, while it will measure 211.07 x 124.65 x 7.95mm and weigh 350 grams.
That’s pretty much all the information TENAA has revealed, and given that this tablet has been certified in China, we expect Huawei to make it official in the near future. This appears to be the company’s affordable tablet offering, and it will almost certainly be part of the MediaPad lineup, but not the MediaPad M4. The Huawei MediaPad M4 is set to land at this year’s IFA in Berlin, which will be held in early September, so keep that in mind.
