TomTom Go Navigation arrives in Huawei’s app gallery

  • TomTom Go Navigation is now available on all major app platforms, including Huawei’s app gallery.
  • This gives many owners of Huawei devices a rare major alternative to the built-in mapping app.

If you own a Huawei phone without Google Play Store access, you haven’t had a lot of major options for navigation apps – Here WeGo has been about as good as it gets. Today, however, you have a viable alternative.

TomTom has announced that its Go Navigation app is available on all major app platforms, including Huawei’s app gallery. It is also available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. It offers up-to-date 2D and 3D maps along with a lot of the basics of better navigation apps. These include real-time traffic, speed camera alerts, lane guidance, and data-saving offline maps.

Using TomTom Go Navigation will cost you a small fee. You’ll get a 30-day free trial, but after that you’ll have to pay for the auto-renewal plans. They cost $ 13 per year, $ 9 for six months, $ 5 for three months, or $ 2 per month. The company relies on both full access to its services and a lack of ads to attract you.

Huawei has reportedly made an agreement with TomTom to use its map data for an internal application. However, with the availability of this app, you don’t need to rely on this partnership for directions.

It won’t necessarily convince you to switch from Here WeGo, let alone buy a modern Huawei phone if you weren’t already inclined. However, TomTom Go Navigation may give you more reasons to stick with the Chinese tech giant’s devices or keep them on your list if you’re already considering buying one.
